For the past several years, I’ve been on a 3-part mission:
- to educate the public to a point that they are DEMANDING holistic and integrative modalities;
- to generate a more specific demand in my local area for MY integrative services; and
- to work directly with other veterinarians to raise the respect, happiness and income of DVMs to the levels we deserve!
My own practice has been full for some time, but with the addition of my book last year and my commitment to blogging and contributions to national media outlets, I feel like my overall mission is really coming into full fruition. Working with other veterinarians like you as well as sharing some of “The Caring Vet Approach” strategies in various speaking outlets is — of course — taking all of this deeper into communities all over the country. I am very excited about all of it.
So, when a specialist hospital approached me about joining forces with them and becoming the lead of their Integrative Department…. making my work a natural follow up behind surgery, a natural complement to rehabilitation and a natural support for sick pets…. I was ecstatic.
I get to keep full autonomy over patient care and my hours.
I get to keep my team.
I get to keep and determine my pricing.
But I get to make an even bigger footprint in the holistic space in our area and have a share as the hospital opens new locations.
I said YES!
What does this mean for our work together? Nothing. =) The Caring Vet Approach is still going strong, speaking in multiple locations in 2018, finalizing a book as we speak, and working 1:1 with enterprising veterinarians in a growing number of locations and specialties.
